Refund Policy
1. Introduction
RR Motor Maintenance aims to supply products and services that meet the agreed requirements.
This policy explains how customers can request returns, exchanges, cancellations and refunds for products purchased from us and services performed by our workshop.
All returns and refunds are subject to applicable South African law, including the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 and, where applicable, the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002.
Nothing in this policy removes or limits a consumer right that cannot lawfully be excluded.
2. Defective, Damaged or Incorrect Products
If you receive a product that is defective, damaged, incorrectly supplied or materially different from what was agreed, please contact us as soon as reasonably possible.
Please provide your order number or invoice number, a description of the problem and photographs where appropriate.
We will assess the matter and provide the remedy required by applicable law. Depending on the circumstances, this may include repair, replacement, a refund or another appropriate remedy.
Where the Consumer Protection Act applies, qualifying defective or unsafe goods may be returned within the applicable statutory period, including the six-month period provided for in section 56.
3. Change-of-Mind Returns
If you no longer want a product or have ordered the wrong item, please contact us before returning it.
For purchases where no statutory change-of-mind return right applies, voluntary returns or exchanges are subject to our agreement and any conditions communicated to you.
Where a statutory cancellation or return right applies, we will honour that right and any conditions or charges permitted by law.
The condition of the product, whether it has been installed or used, and the reason for the return may be relevant when assessing the request. These factors will not be used to deny a statutory right that applies.
4. Online Purchases and Cancellation Rights
Certain transactions concluded electronically may qualify for a cooling-off period under section 44 of the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act.
Where applicable, this allows a consumer to cancel a qualifying transaction within seven days, subject to the Act's conditions and exceptions. The permitted direct cost of returning goods may be charged where the law allows it.
Other cancellation and refund rights may also apply, including where the supplier fails to meet certain electronic transaction disclosure requirements or cannot supply the ordered goods.
Contact us promptly if you wish to cancel an online order. We will assess the request according to the applicable legal requirements.
5. Vehicle Parts and Compatibility
Customers should check product descriptions and compatibility information before ordering.
If you are uncertain whether a part is suitable for your vehicle, contact us before purchasing and provide the vehicle make, model, year and other relevant details.
If you have ordered an incorrect part, contact us before installing or modifying it. We will assess the return request according to applicable law and any voluntary return arrangement agreed with us.
This section does not exclude a remedy where a part is defective, incorrectly described or otherwise gives rise to a statutory right.
6. Special Orders
Some parts or products may be sourced specifically for a customer or ordered from a supplier on request.
Any applicable deposit, lead time, cancellation arrangement or special-order condition will be communicated before the order is confirmed.
Special-order status does not automatically remove any statutory cancellation, return or refund rights.
7. Workshop Services and Repair Concerns
If you are dissatisfied with a service performed by RR Motor Maintenance, please contact us and explain the issue.
Include the invoice or job number, vehicle details, date of service and a description of the concern.
We will review the matter and, where appropriate, arrange an inspection and discuss a reasonable resolution.
Depending on the circumstances, the appropriate remedy may include corrective work, a price adjustment, a refund or another remedy required by law.
Charges for completed work, deposits and cancellations will be handled according to the agreed terms and applicable legislation. Additional work should be approved before it is undertaken, except where otherwise lawfully agreed.
8. How to Request a Return or Refund
Please contact us before sending a product back or arranging corrective workshop work.
Provide the following information where relevant:
-
Your name and contact details.
-
Your order number, invoice number or job number.
-
The product or service concerned.
-
A description of the problem.
-
Your preferred resolution.
-
Photographs or other supporting information, where appropriate.
We will explain the next steps and any applicable return arrangements.
9. Return Shipping
Responsibility for return shipping costs depends on the reason for the return, the applicable statutory requirements and any agreed voluntary return arrangement.
Where a product qualifies for a statutory remedy, we will comply with the applicable requirements concerning return costs and responsibility for the goods.
Please contact us before arranging return shipping so that the appropriate process can be confirmed.
10. Refund Processing
Approved refunds will generally be returned using the original payment method where reasonably possible, unless another lawful arrangement is agreed.
Processing times may depend on the circumstances, the applicable legal requirements and the payment provider.
Where legislation prescribes a refund deadline, we will comply with that deadline.
